Kisa Family Development Project

We are building a brighter future for families in Nakaseke, Uganda. See how your support changes lives and be part of the journey today!

What Does Kisa Mean?

Kisa means Grace in Luganda, a word that carries warmth, mercy, and love.

Our mission is to share that grace in tangible ways, walking alongside communities in Uganda and building brighter futures through support that is steady, human, and hopeful.

Welcome to the Kisa Family Development Project. Our work begins with a school, a church, and a community in Nakaseke, Uganda — and grows through the people who call it home. In a place where families work hard to provide for their children, small barriers can have a big impact: school fees, limited opportunities, and the daily challenge of accessing safe water and good sanitation.

Kisa exists to meet those challenges with practical, local solutions — supporting low-cost education, adult learning, financial literacy, and community development projects. When you support Kisa, you're walking alongside families as they build stability step by step, creating a future that lasts.

What We Do

There are three main areas of our work. Our work centers around Great Hope School, the adjoining church, and the wider community.

Education programs

Education

Kisa aims to ensure education is accessible to every child in the community by providing targeted support across the whole school to keep fees affordable for all families.

Community development

Community Development

Kisa has local trainers who work with families and young adults to develop life skills, financial literacy and animal husbandry.

Wellbeing initiatives

Wellbeing

Kisa is dedicated to providing safe clean water, good sanitation and hygiene to families, the school, church, and wider community.

Where We Work

Kisa works in the Nakaseke District of central Uganda. This area was known as the Luwero triangle during the guerrilla wars of the 1970's and 80's and one can still see the effects of the fighting today.

The charity works with a team of local Ugandan nationals led by Pastor Samuel Ssesanga, the Director of Great Hope Nursey and Primary School at Timuna just outside the town of Nakaseke.
